Gatwick Airport’s Chief Executive Officer has reacted to the government’s travel restriction changes which come into effect next month.
Stewart Wingate said it is a “significant and welcome step towards recovery” and will allow fully vaccinated passengers “to book with more confidence in the months before Christmas and beyond”. He added that he hopes remaining constraints such as the passenger locator form can be removed soon.
From 4th October, the traffic light system will be simplified with a single red list, and PCR tests will no longer be needed for fully vaccinated travellers returning to England. Later in October, the current requirement of a day two PCR test will be replaced with the cheaper lateral flow test.
