Up to 34,000 new trees are going to be planted across Surrey over the next two years thanks to a massive funding award.

Nearly £300,000 has been given from the Forestry Commission’s Local Authority Treescapes Fund to the County Council and partners.

The donation will be put towards 25,000 new trees with the additional 9000 being topped up by the council.

Local authorities, schools, parish councils and community groups will plant the trees over the next two years.
