Surrey could be getting an on-demand bus service.

Plans being drawn up by the council would see users request departure or arrival times using an app which then groups passengers into a convenient journey time.

It’s hoped it will lead to reduced fares and encourage more people to uses buses.

The council has until the end of the month to send its plans to the Department of Transport and if given the go-ahead it will be trialled in Mole Valley and Tandridge as well as Waverley and Guildford.
