Plans to build a new HQ in Leatherhead for Surrey police have been shelved.

The force’s headquarter will remain in Guilford after Surrey Police and Crime Commissioner Lisa Townsend, said that policing had ‘shifted significantly’ during the pandemic.

Surrey Police have been at Mount Browne since 1949.

Ms Townsend said redeveloping the site offered the best value for money.
