A programme to replace beds and mattresses at Intermediate Care Units in some Sussex Hospitals starts this month.
Sussex Community NHS Foundation Trust is replacing the beds and mattresses in its 14 Intermediate Care Units, in a programme costing £500,000. Most of the existing beds have reached the end of their service life and an upgrade allows staff to provide better care using modern equipment.
303 beds and 333 mattresses will be delivered in three stages to minimise disruption.
Crawley Hospital and Horsham Hospital are among the sites due to receive new beds and mattresses; they are expected to take delivery early next year.
