Eleven new whole time firefighter recruits have been formally welcomed to West Sussex Fire and Rescue Service. 

Their intensive 13 week training course culminated in a A Pass Out Parade at Horley Fire Station.  The service’s new firefighters took part in a competitive recruitment process last year which saw over 900 people apply for the role.

The eleven firefighters will be based at various locations in West Sussex, three of whom will be at East Grinstead.
