The MP for Reigate, Crispin Blunt, has announced he will be standing down at the next general election.
In a statement on his website, Mr Blunt says that “after seven increasingly tumultuous parliaments”, this will be his last. Mr Blunt made the announcement on Sunday which was the 25th anniversary of his election as Conservative MP for Reigate.
Last month Mr Blunt decided to retract and apologise for his initial statement of defence of MP Imran Ahmad Khan who was convicted for sexually assaulting a teenage boy.
