Two police officers who tackled a man brandishing a samurai sword in Crawley, have been recognised for their bravery.
PC Ryan Oakley and Sergeant James Arrol-Barker were named as the South East regional winners of the 2022 Police Federation Bravery Awards for their actions in October, 2021.
Ali Bhatti was apprehended by the officers after attacking two members of the public.
Bhatti has since been convicted of attempted murder, grievous bodily harm and possession of a bladed article in a public place.
