Newly released figures show that 302 police officers have been recruited in Sussex as part of the Government’s pledge to put 20,000 more officers on the streets by March 2023.

MP for Crawley Henry Smith has welcomed the announcement and said the additional officers will play a huge role in pursuing criminals, protecting victims and reassuring the law-abiding majority.

The latest figures show the Government are on track to fulfil its manifesto commitment with 77 per cent of the target now met.
