An unauthorised caravan site was set up on Saturday on a field off Tanhouse Road in Oxted.

Several caravans moved onto the site and work began to lay hard surfacing and install drainage to connect to utility supplies. 

On Sunday, Tandridge District Council served a Temporary Stop Notice alleging a breach of planning control on the site.  The Notice requires all work to cease and will remain in place for 28 days. 

Leader of the Council, Councillor Catherine Sayer, says they are taking legal advice about the next steps.
