Surrey County Council says it will continue to provide support for Ukraine, as the first anniversary of the country’s invasion passed on Friday.
The Council says UK host families are still needed to provide a home for Ukrainian refugees, and reminds residents that they can claim payments of up to £600 per month to host Ukrainian families. This recently increased rate will be available until March 2024.
From next week, Ukrainians who came to the UK under the Homes for Ukraine visa will be able to apply for a further three-month free bus pass in an extension to the current scheme. New applicants will be offered a six-month pass.
