Younger passengers using Gatwick Airport are among those able to use passport e-gates at the UK border from today.
After successful trials at the airport, 10 and 11 year olds can now use the e-gates after the government announced a change to the rules; until today only children aged 12 and over could use them.
As well as Gatwick, e-gates are installed at 12 other airports in the UK and at UK border controls at the Eurostar terminals in Brussels and Paris.
