Crawley Town FC may be facing sanctions from the Football Association, after a large group of fans were seen throwing missiles at their opponent’s goalkeeper on Saturday.
The game against Tranmere Rovers saw Crawley Town secure a home 3-2 victory, which was almost abandoned due to the incident in the stadium’s South Terrace.
The club says it expects to receive sanctions in the coming weeks which will put it under “significant financial stress,” as they offered an apology and said it was starting an investigation.
