Crawley Borough Council has announced plans for new council housing in Ifield; it proposes up to 18 pods, or modular homes, on a site at Deerswood Court.  The modules are factory-built and then delivered for installation.

A number of garages would have to be demolished if the housing is built;  the 52 garage tenants will be offered alternatives. 

A consultation meeting, showing displays of the modular housing concept, will take place at Ifield Community Centre on the evening of Thursday 19th October.
