The iconic Dorking Halls is set to close over the summer as it undergoes a major safety refit.
Over three million pounds is to be spent to fix some immediate problems, while a decision to spend up to eight million pounds worth of modernisation, will be decided upon next year.
If the council agrees to go ahead with the second phase of works, then that means the halls will have to be closed in 2025 as well. In the meantime, the primary focus of the first phase, will be to make the ceiling safe.
