West Sussex county council is to invest more than £20m to try to improve outcomes for children and young people with special education needs and disabilities.
A recent Ofsted report found the local area partnership’s SEND arrangements led to inconsistent experiences and outcomes
£1.6m will be spent on reducing assessment waiting times to less than 20 week.
And a further £20.2m in funding will be invested to try to meet the requirement for an additional 300 SEND school places.
