Teams from the community in Surrey took part in a charity football tournament as part of the Refugee Week 2024 celebrations. It was arranged by the Big Leaf Foundation which supports displaced young people through activities, projects and events to combat social isolation and improve wellbeing.
This year’s tournament saw displaced young people playing matches alongside teams from Surrey Fire and Rescue Service, Surrey Police and local businesses.
The event also provided a platform for the young people to explore career pathways with several showing an interest in a career with the fire service.
