A special visitor came to Three Bridges Station at the weekend.

A steam locomotive headed a train excursion to the south coast; the Merchant Navy class pacific 35028 Clan Line, owned by the Merchant Navy Locomotive Society, left Three Bridges early on Saturday stopping at stations to Worthing to pick up passengers before continuing its journey to Salisbury and Bath.

There were only ever 30 of these locomotives built; each were named after shipping companies that used Southampton and other south coast docks during World War 2.
