New Planting At Horley Recreation Ground

Horley Recreation Ground is benefitting from environmental improvements thanks to local volunteers.

The Horley Conservation Group has planted trees and a hedge in the children’s play area.  These were funded by Surrey County Council through the ‘I Dig Trees’ concept and form part of a drainage project to dry up the surface of the playground.

Horley’s Men in Sheds group provided some bat and bird boxes which were put up around the Recreation Ground by the conservation group and the Gatwick Greenspace partnership.

Horley Town Council has thanked the volunteers and says that other works will take place later in the year to help the drainage in the area.
