The Safer Redhill initiative to reduce criminal activity in the town has produced strong results during the first year of its operation.
The targeted partnership approach has seen 155 arrests for offences such as assaults, drug supply and shoplifting, with 93 charges. There have been 86 drug seizures. Weapons and a large amount of cash have also been recovered.
The partnership which includes Surrey Police, Reigate and Banstead Borough Council, and the YMCA, have also worked on engagement and building strong relationships with the community, and in making improvements to the area such as solar lighting.
Much of the Safer Redhill work is supported by funding through the Office of the Police and Crime Commissioner.
