Dobbins Pond in Ifield West was emptied recently in preparation for work to transform it into a quiet, family-friendly place to enjoy.

Work to remove weeds and rebuild the spillway to improve water flow and prevent stagnation will take place first; followed by improved paths around the pond and two picnic areas located near the playground to make life easier for mums, dads and carers.

And the work is expected to be complete by early autumn.
