Good news for pensioners who used to work for West Sussex County Council. Fund managers appointed by the Council to oversee the authority’s pension investments have outperformed the market.
The latest accounts for the year show the fund had assets of £2.6billion, an increase of nearly £250 million over the last year which has further improved its funding position.
At 94% funded, it is the best funded pension fund amongst county councils and second-best funded out of all the 88 English pension funds on a like-for-like basis.
