A man’s been charged following several burglaries in Tadworth targeting elderly women.

Daniel Bailey Rogers, of no fixed address, was charged with two burglary dwellings and one attempted burglary.

The incidents include:

• Monday, 1 September – a handbag containing a gold wedding ring was stolen from the home of a woman in her 80s.
• Thursday, 4 September – a man attempted to gain access to a property of a woman in her 80s but was confronted by the homeowner and left the scene empty handed.
• Tuesday, 9 September – a number of medals were stolen from the home of a woman in her 90s.

Most of the stolen items have been recovered and will be returned to their rightful owner.

The man has been remanded in custody and is due to appear at Guildford Crown Court on Friday, 26 September.
