A key milestone has been reached as the 500th high speed broadband cabinet in a project to make Surrey the best connected county was unveiled by Council deputy leader Peter Martin.
More than 75,000 businesses and homes that would otherwise have missed out on the opportunity to get better broadband are now covered by the high-speed technology.
The Superfast Surrey project is hoping to reach more than 80,000 premises which fall outside the private sector’s commercial plans. It aims to create a county-wide network to ensure nearly every community enjoys the benefits of the digital world.
The 500th cabinet was installed in Oxshott.
