As the colder weather looms, a plea for volunteer ‘Snow Angels’ has been made in Tandridge.
The District Council is asking for local communities to support each other and help clear pavements around key areas when it snows.
Shopping areas, schools and doctor’s surgeries are just some of the locations where volunteers have helped in previous years to salt pavements in advance of bad weather and help clear pavements of snow and ice when the cold weather strikes.
Volunteering groups are available in several locations, including Bletchingly, Dormansland; Godstone; Lingfield; Nutfield and Oxted.
Anyone who is willing to help out should contact Scott Coughlan on 01883 732785, or e-mail scoughlan@tandridge.gov.uk to find out more.
