Major events in Crawley have received a helping hand with a grant from Crawley Borough Council.
The £1,315 grant has been awarded to Festivals in Crawley, a co-ordination group for large events in the town to increase awareness and attendance at events.
The partners of Festivals in Crawley include Crawley Black History Foundation, Crawley Festival, Crawley STEMfest and WORDfest Crawley.
The grant will be used to promote Crawley festivals by purchasing banners to advertise the events and create a new website to be launched in July
The website will include an events calendar and links to partners’ sites.
Councillor Michael Jones, Cabinet member for Community Engagement, said: “We’re fortunate to have such a wide range of festivals in Crawley throughout the year, covering many art forms and cultures.
“I’m delighted that our grant will enable these events to be promoted as widely as possible, helping them to grow and flourish.”
These grants can make a big difference to community groups and charities. More information and application forms are also available online at www.crawley.gov.uk/grants
