Police are warning Reigate and Banstead residents against fraudsters following an incident in Kingswood.
A couple discovered that bogus bank accounts had been set up in their name without their knowledge or consent.
Offenders set up the new accounts and arranged for the bank cards to be delivered to an address that they later visit to retrieve them so they can carry out fraudulent monetary transactions.
A couple discovered this had happened to them when a man received mail from two bank accounts that were not his, containing credit cards and correspondence with new pin numbers enclosed.
Police are keen to speak to a man in his 20s, with tanned skin, of small build, wearing blue jeans and a high visibility jacket who was seen by the couple’s house.
