A police car has been rammed by a Land Rover near Crawley Down.

The green Discovery was spotted speeding by officers on the A264 yesterday afternoon shortly after 3.30pm.

The driver refused initial requests to pull over but did eventually stop at the junction with Sunny Avenue.  The vehicle then reversed into the police car mounting the bonnet and preventing the officers from continuing their chase.

The Land Rover then headed off in the direction of Crawley Down.

The driver is described as white, in his late teens or early twenties and was wearing a black hoodie.  His passenger is also a white man, of similar age and was wearing a grey hoodie with black piping on the sleeves.
