Serious Collision on M25

A man’s been airlifted to hospital with serious injuries following a multi-vehicle collision on the M25 this morning (September 9).

The incident, which involved several vehicles, including a lorry and Toyota Yaris, occurred between junctions 9 (Leatherhead) and 8 (Reigate) around 8.10am.

A man in his 30s who was driving the Yaris was airlifted to Hospital after being cut free by fire crews.

It’s not believed that anyone else was seriously injured as a result of the collision.

The clockwise carriageway has now been reopened but the anti-clockwise carriageway still remains closed in the vicinity while emergency crews continue to deal with the incident.

Officers are urging members of the public to remain in their vehicles for their own safety.

Reigate Town Hall Heritage Day

You may have passed Reigate and Banstead’s Town Hall hundreds of times without appreciating what a great building it is.

This Saturday you’ll be able to enjoy a behind the scenes view at the Heritage open day at the Town Hall.   Among things you’ll find on display are some beautiful stained glass windows and vintage furniture from Heals.

There’ll also be a fascinating World War 1 exhibition. It’ll feature exhibits from Reigate Priory Museum and include such items as a WW1 Royal Flying Corps Helmet, period costumes and more..

Staff from the Reigate Priory Museum and local historians will be on hand, so it’s a great opportunity to understand more about local people’s contributions to the war effort.

The Heritage Day runs from 11am to 3pm this Saturday (13 September)
