New Parking Measures At Local Stations

New parking measures are coming to 25 railway stations across the network.

Works are taking place to introduce Automatic Number Plate Recognition systems by the end of the month. This will affect stations on the Govia Thameslink Railway network which include Redhill, Three Bridges, Lingfield, and Oxted.

Cameras at the entrance to the car parks will automatically record motorists’ car number plates and the time as they pass through. This means motorists will not need to display a parking permit in vehicle windscreens.

If in a rush, motorists can first catch their train and pay for their ticket online later within a certain timescale.

Redhill Armed Robbery

Surrey Police have released CCTV footage of two men who robbed a shop in Redhill last month.

Just after 4 o’clock in the afternoon on the 25th of August, two men entered the Carphone Warehouse and threatened staff with a knife before stealing a number of goods.

Happily, no one was injured.

One of the men is described as white, with light coloured hair, wearing sunglasses, a NIke T Shirt and dark shorts. The other is black, wearing a dark tracksuit – also wearing sunglasses.

If you know the people in the CCTV footage above, or recognise the description then contact Surrey Police on 101 quoting reference 45170093595.

Alternatively the independent charity Crimestoppers can be contacted anonymously on 0800 555 111.
