Tadworth Robbery

Staff at a convenience store in Tadworth were tied up and one man was assaulted during a robbery yesterday morning.

The incident happened around 7am when three masked men entered the One Stop Store on Cross Road.

They escaped with a quantity of cash and cigarettes and it’s thought that they made their getaway in a small dark blue car.

The men were wearing dark coloured hoodies with tracksuit bottoms and trainers. Two of them were of Asian appearance and one was described as black.

Police are keen to speak anyone who saw the robbery.

Weekend Sports Update

In football, it couldn’t have been a better opening opening week for Crawley Town as they rounded it off with a third victory in their league one home match against Swindon Town.  A single goal from a penalty scored by Izale MacLeod early in the second half was the difference between the sides.

Earlier in the week,  the Reds earned a place in the second round of the Capital One cup and are fifth in the League table.

In the Ryman South, Redhill and South Park both lost one nil, and Merstham went down by two goals at home to Faversham Town. Slightly better for Three Bridges who drew 2 all away at Worthing.

Reigate Robbery

Three men have got away with two cash till drawers following an armed robbery at Morrison’s in Reigate.

The incident took place at around 1am on Tuesday morning after the men smashed their way through the front entrance to the shop. They were armed with crowbars and threatened staff before taking off with the cash drawers. They then drove off in a dark coloured Vauxhall Vectra towards High Street. No members of staff were injured during the incident.

Surrey police are appealing for any witnesses to come forward.

Police All Out Day

Around 80 officers took part in Sussex Police’s ‘All Out Day’ last Friday where they swapped their usual places of work to join colleagues in more visible roles across the county.

Deputy Chief Constable Olivia Pinkney said she was delighted with the enthusiasm and energy shown by all those who joined Operation Maximum, working alongside their colleagues to execute drugs warrants, recover stolen property, assist with burglary investigations and getting out to help road policing officers keeping Sussex a safe place for drivers and other road users.
