Council staff are clearing about 6 fly tips daily and they have now said they will make an effort to prioritise tackling the problem.

A policeman has rescued a woman from a river in Horley.

The woman – in her 50s – was spotted wading into the water in the afternoon on Wednesday (9th July)

Surrey PC Mark Fulham followed the woman into the river to help bring her back to the bank.

The woman has now been detained under the Mental Health Act.
