Commemorating WW1

This year marks the Centenary of the Outbreak of the First World War.

To commemorate the anniversary, a floral tribute is being laid along the pathway from Queensway to County Mall in Crawley.

Named ‘The Heroes Walk’, it will include poppies as well as other wild flowers.

Volunteers will be planting in the Memorial Gardens on Saturday 5th April, from 10 o’clock in the morning.

Missing Horsham Girl

A girl who went missing from her home in Horsham has been found safe and unharmed.

Shannon Holland, 14, who had last been seen on Thursday evening, was found several hours later in Crawley following an appeal for information concerning her whereabouts.

Police thank local people and news media for their interest.

Redhill Memorial Park Competition

Young artists from all over the borough are being invited to enter a competition to design a new panel for the entrance gates to Redhill Memorial Park.

As part of the improvements to the park, new gates are going to be installed at the entrance on London Road. The winning artists will see their designs transformed into metalwork and incorporated into the new gates when the park re-opens this autumn.

The competition is open to all young people aged 11 to 19 who live or go to school or college in the borough of Reigate & Banstead.

Horley Burglary

A teenage boy has been arrested on suspicion of burglary following a pursuit through Horley on Monday 17th March.

The incident occurred at around 2.15pm after an on duty detective who was working in the area saw a man acting suspiciously.

A pursuit including detectives from East Surrey CID, response and neighborhood officers then occurred through a number of streets and gardens in the Yattendon area.

The 17 year old was caught and charged with burglary and has been remanded in custody.
