Crawley Playground Set To Be An Adventure For Children

A new adventure playground is set to put smiles on the faces of children in Crawley.

The facilities at Cherry Lane are being completely transformed with a climbing zone in the trees, a large sand and water play area and a tunnel-based underground zone.

It is hoped the focus of play will return to a ‘back-to-basics’ feel with digging in mud, outdoor cooking using a fire pit and den building.

The work is due to be completed by Easter next year.

London Corinthians 0 – Crawley Wasps 1

Crawley Wasps secured an away win at London Corinthians.

Shinih Tuazon beat the goalkeeper at her near post in the second half, aided by an accurate long pass from Crawley’s outfielder Natalie Stephenson who this game was deputising as goalkeeper.

Corinthians did have chances of their own but the Wasps held on to secure a fourth victory, and second clean sheet, in a row in the London and South East Regional Women’s Football League.

It was not a good day for Crawley Town on Saturday.

They travelled to Portsmouth for their League 2 match and found themselves 3-nil down by half time. Despite having much of the possession, the Reds were unable to convert this into goals. And for the first time this season The Reds were unable to get the ball into the back of the net.

They find themselves 14th in the table after six games.

No Ryman league action last weekend but in the first qualifying round of the FA Cup, Merstham thrashed East Preston 4 – 1 in their away game on Saturday. This follows on from South Park’s 2 – 1 home victory on Friday against Dorking Wanderers.

Elsewhere, Redhill lost 3 – 1 at Eversley and California, while Banstead Athletic enjoyed a massive 7 – 1 victory at Ash United.
