Reigate & Banstead Borough Council to match fund donations into local charitable fund

Reigate & Banstead Borough Council is offering to match funds for every £1 of private donations into the Community Fund for Reigate & Banstead for a time limited period.

A further 50p for every £1 will be contributed between now and 31 March, up to a maximum Council contribution of £13,000.

The community fund exists to improve the lives of local people. It’s run by volunteers and is managed by the community foundation for Surrey.

Gatwick Airport advice on forthcoming rail disruption

Gatwick airport are advising due to national rail strikes, people should expect disruption to and from the airport between 31st January and 4th February.

They say you should avoid using trains and arrange alternative transport where possible.

There’s a useful list of different ways you can get to the airport on their website. People should allow extra time and book your journey in advance.

Man wanted for failing to appear in court

An arrest warrant has been issued for man in West Sussex after failing to appear in court.

Matthew Stevens was due to appear in relation to charge of possessing a knife in a public place. The 48 year-old is known to have links in the Crawley area.

Stevens is described as medium build, with short curly light hair.
Anyone with knowledge of his whereabouts are urged to contact the police.

Witness appeal following collision in Charlwood

Police are looking for witnesses following a car accident in Charlwood last Thursday.

Officers were called to Horley Road at around 6.25pm following reports of a collision between two cars.

Both drivers were seriously injured and were taken to hospital.

Anyone who may have seen the collision or may have dash cam footage are asked to help the police in their investigation.
