The Rise in Redhill is preparing for opening

Surrey’s new entertainment venue is one step closer to opening, as Reigate & Banstead Borough Council secures more names for its flagship development.

The Rise in Redhill town centre will be having a multi-screen cinema, bowling lanes and retro arcade.

The Council is also in discussion with a number of food, drink and leisure operators, that are expected to become part of the complex.

Henry Smith MP welcomes increase in medical staff in Crawley

Crawley MP, Henry Smith has welcomed news that there are 48 more doctors, nurses and other patient care staff working in general practice in the town.

This is an increase of 40 per cent compared to three years ago, and includes roles such as health care assistants, pharmacists, physiotherapists and more.

Crawley has been approved as the location of one of 19 new Community Diagnostic Centres, which will see patients benefit from quicker access to treatment and lifesaving diagnostic tests close to home.

Councils remind voters that from May 2023, photo ID is required at polling stations

Local councils are reminding voters that from May this year they will need to bring valid photo ID with them to polling stations in order to cast their vote.

This will apply to: Local elections, Police and Crime Commissioner elections, parliamentary by-elections and recall petitions.

From October this year it will apply to General Elections

Grants of over £27k awarded by Tandridge Together Community Fund

The Tandridge Together Community Fund has awarded over £27,000, in grants to local groups who help fund initiatives, which benefit the health and wellbeing of residents.

The grants are available each year thanks to funding from the Tandridge Together Lottery.

These grants will help a number of projects, such as: offering confidential financial advice, specialist councillors and workshops for people with learning difficulties and disabilities.

The local organisations awarded a grant are:
