Baby Feeding Support Service

A feeding support service for new parents has been launched at East Surrey Hospital.

Burstow Babies was launched on Monday and is provided by the infant feeding team at Surrey and Sussex Healthcare NHS Trust.  The daily support sessions aim to support new parents with any feeding issues and are designed to complement the care provided by community midwives.

The free service is available seven days a week on Burstow Ward from 12.30 pm to 2.30 pm.  It is available to all families from the day of discharge home following birth, until the baby is 28 days old.

Gatwick Airport Receives Dementia Innovation Award

Gatwick Airport has won a Dementia Innovation Award for the introduction of its hidden disability lanyard.

Since its introduction over 3,000 people have requested a lanyard when travelling through the airport.  The lanyard provides staff with a discreet signal that passengers may require extra help.  It is voluntary and can be collected free of charge from any of Gatwick’s assistance desks.

Every member of Gatwick’s Assistance Team has received Dementia Friends training.

Christmas festivities got off to a good start in Reigate on Saturday.  As well as festive events taking place throughout the day in the town, a firework display was organised by Reigate on Ice and the Matthews Organisation, and sponsored by London Gatwick Airport.

Shane Richie and his Band gave a free performance in Priory Park following the fireworks. Susy Radio’s Neil Munday spoke to Shane Richie who revealed news about a new drama for his EastEnders character, Alfie Moon.

And could local politics look a little different with Shane Richie around?
