Crawley town players back from injury for game against Grimsby

Crawley Town play Grimsby at home tomorrow.

Both Mark Connolly and Alex Davey, who’ve been out with injuries have been training and look like they’ll be match fit for the game.

Manager Dermot Drummy says he’s disappointed Tuesday’s game against Yeovil was called off but, says they’ve spent the time eradicating the mistakes which cost them goals recently.

Police helicopter used in stolen car pursuit

Two men have been arrested following a pursuit by a Police helicopter near Gatwick at 2am on Thursday morning.

The driver of the Range Rover, which had been reported stolen from Battersea, tried to lose the following patrol by setting off at high speed.

Both eventually abandoned the car and carried on by foot near Pycombe, where the passenger was detailed by officers.  The driver who got away was tracked by helicopter and later detained by a Police dog and handler.

The two 18 year olds are in custody.

White Ribbon accreditation for Surrey Police

Officers and staff throughout Surrey Police are being invited to make a pledge.

3 o’clock tomorrow afternoon the words Never to commit, condone, or remain silent about men’s violence against women in all its forms will be spoken throughout the force.

It is in acknowledgement of the White Ribbon Status which has been awarded to Surrey Police in recognition of its work to tackle abuse in intimate relationships.

Crawley man sentenced for drugs conspiracy

A man from Crawley is one of six people handed a custodial sentence for involvement in a drugs conspiracy.

34 year-old Darren O’Donnell pleaded guilty to supplying crack cocaine and possession of heroin.

He was part of the Telfon network which supplied heroin and crack cocaine over six months in Brighton and Hove between July and December 2015.  O’Donnell was jailed for 20 months.

In total 13 years worth of custodial sentences were handed down to those involved in the network including 18 months in a youth offenders institute for a 16 year old boy.

Shoplifting in East Grinstead

Appeals have been launched for witnesses to come forward following  a series of shoplifting incidents in East Grinstead.

On four separate days Broadlays in the High Street was targeted.

Two jackets were stolen from the store on Wednesday 2nd November by one man whilst a second man distracted the assistant.

The following day two men stole around £1000 worth of clothes including Tommy Hilfiger t-shirts and sweaters as well as Hugo Boss jackets.

For the third day running the store was again targeted.  On this occasion a man was challenged after he was seen entering the changing room with two shirts but leaving it with only one.  He was found to be wearing the shirt.

The latest incident occurred on 11th November when two men were seen acting suspiciously.  They ran out the store, pushing staff out the way, after being approached.

Police would like to speak with the men pictured in the images.
