Charity receives a helping hand from Horsham Police

A charity that works to provide help and support to women at risk of, or involved in, the sex industry in the Horsham, Crawley and Gatwick areas, has been given a boost.

StreetlightUK has received a £500 donation from Horsham Police.

The money will help provide a Resource Bag full of activities, facts, stories and contacts to make children aware of the dangers of being groomed into the sex industry.

The charity hopes to give away a bag to every 12 year-old child.

Tilgate Assault investigation continues

Investigations continue into an alleged serious assault in Tilgate.

Police are attempting to trace 23 year-old Ryan Evans, of no fixed abode, for interview.

It follows allegations made by a 17 year old girl that she was kicked, punched and dragged along by her hair last month.

Evans, who is currently homeless, is described as white, 5’10”, with brown hair and grey eyes.

Reigate & Banstead Borough Council’s Local Plan Consultation Document

Reigate and Banstead Borough Council’s Executive will consider the next part of the Council’s Local Plan for public consultation.  The Development Management Plan will include potential developments sites for housing, shops and employment.  As well as sites within urban areas, the consultation seeks views on potential urban extensions around the edges of Horley, Redhill, Merstham and Reigate including on land that is currently Green Belt.  

If agreed by the Executive, the consultation document will be subject to a 10 week public consultation from 1 August to 10 October 2016.
