New Bench In Crawley Town Centre

Weary shoppers now have a place to rest thanks to a new bench installed in The Martlets in Crawley town centre.

The area outside Topshop is home to the bench, enabling those who need it to rest between the walk from Queens Square to County Mall.

The project began in 2014 after Town access group members received a letter from a resident who found it difficult to navigate the cobbles due to mobility problems.

With the support of Crawley Borough Council, TAG members began the project in their twenty-first year of campaigning for better access.

To celebrate the installation of the bench the Mayor of Crawley and Chairman of TAG, Councillor Chris Cheshire gathered with TAG members to test it out.
