Violent Attack in Horley

Witnesses are being sought following an altercation in Horley.

A man in his 20s sustained minor injuries to his face and head and suffered a medical seizure as a result.

Another man, in his 50s, reportedly received injuries to his legs and face.

The violent altercation happened outside The Bull Inn pub between 1 and 2 o’clock the early hours of Sunday morning.

Diamond Ring Stolen in Crawley

A diamond ring worth £1000 has been stolen from a jewellers in Crawley.

Warren James Jewellers in The Martletts was struck around 2.15pm Friday December 4th.

Thieves stole the 9ct white gold ring with a square of cluster diamonds.

Police have released photos of two men they believe can assist them with their enquiries.

‘Unexplained’ death at a motorway junction

The death of a man at a junction of a motorway is being treated as ‘unexplained’.

Around 6.30 Tuesday afternoon officers were called by a member of the public who was concerned for the man’s safety.

He was pronounced dead at the scene a short time later.

Both motorways were closed whilst Fire, Ambulance, Police and Highways Agency staff dealt with the situation.

An investigation has been launched.

Assault in Tilgate park

A man has been assaulted in Tilgate Park.

The 43 year-old was found in a stream with a number of injuries including a broken leg and fractures to both eye sockets shortly after 1.30 Tuesday morning.

A silver car was seen speeding away by officers who were carrying out a routine patrol in the car park.

The man remains in a stable condition.

Christmas Recycling & Refuse collections for Reigate & Banstead

As Christmas approaches Reigate & Banstead Borough Council are informing people of changes to their recycling and refuse collection service.

Residents who usually have collections on Monday 21st December have a revised collection two days beforehand on the 19th.

Tuesday 22nd – Friday 25th will be collected one day earlier.

Normal collections apply between 28th and 31st December; and those expected for collection on Friday 1st January will occur on the 2nd.

Normal service resumes on 4th January.

Garden waste collections are being suspended for two weeks over the festive period.

Residents can find details of these collection day changes and more information on the recycling and refuse service on the council’s website www.reigate-banstead.gov.uk/recyclemore.

During 2016, with the exception of Christmas and the New Year, the council will be collecting as usual over bank holidays.
