Investigation into burglary of 12 garages in Roffey

Police are investigating a series of burglaries where 12 garages were broken into in Roffey.

A number of bicycles were stolen during the burglaries.

They occurred at around 1.30pm on Wednesday the 13th of August in The Pines, Beech Road and Sycamore Avenue.

There was also an attempt to break into a house in Church Road.

A 17-year-old boy and a 19-year-old man from Horsham have been arrested and questioned on suspicion of criminal damage.

Another 17-year-old from Southwater was also arrested and questioned on suspicion of burglary.

They have all now been released on bail.

Sussex police would like to speak to anyone in the area who may have seen or heard anything.

Surrey residents advised to be wary of bogus window cleaners

Surrey residents are advised to be vigilant following an incident where two men allegedly impersonated a pair of window cleaners to gain access to an elderly woman’s home.

The incident took place at around 4pm in  Winckworth Road in Banstead on Friday.

The woman answered the door to one man who asked for washing liquid before forcing entry to her home.

The second man then appeared and distracted the woman as the first man when upstairs to the 81-year-old victim’s bedroom.

He is believed to have taken a box containing jewellery.

The first man is described as white, around 5ft 9″, in his early 20s and very thin with straight dark hair.

The second is described as black with ligh skin and a small round shaped face also in his early twenties at around 5ft 3″.

Detective Constable Lewis Flanagan is appealing for anyone who saw what happened to get in touch with Surrey Police.

Officer hurt on the M25

A police officer suffered serious leg injuries after an incident on the M25 on Wednesday.

A  34-year-old-man has since been charged with dangerous driving.

Robert Temple, of Repository Road in London appeared at East Surrey Magistrate’s Court in Redhill yesterday, and is next due to appear at Guildford Crown Court later in September.

The officer was treated at East Surrey Hospital in Redhill.

Two men attacked and robbed of a Audermars Piguet limited edition watch

Two men were assaulted and robbed of a valuable watch in East Grinstead yesterday.

The two attackers tried to make a quick getaway on a stolen black Yahama motorbike but when it failed to start and they dropped it to the ground.

They then forced another man from his car and drove off.

The Ford Mondeo was found a little later in a rural car park in Rabies Heath Road between South Godstone and Bletchingley in Surrey.

Detective Inspector Mark Cullimore says that the Mondeo had been driven hard and was seen smoking.

Two black men got out of the car and got into a black BMW that had been waiting in the car park with a driver at the wheel.

Police say the crime was well planned and describe the two suspects as in their late teens to early 20s, 5-foot 10″, with short hair and wearing dark clothing.

One of them was seen to be carrying a knife at the time of the robbery.
