Horley Arson Arrest

A man in his twenties arrested in connection with a recent spate of arson offences across the Borough of Reigate and Banstead, has been released on Police bail.

The man from Horley is the second person to have been released on bail as part of Operation Retinta whilst the investigation continues. The first is a man in his 40s.

Operation Retinta is investigating arson attacks on properties including Old Reigations Rugby Club, Churchfields Bowls Club and Horley Lawn Tennis Club.

Earlswood Burglary

Three teenagers have been arrested on suspicion of aggravated burglary in Earlswood.

Police responded to a report of several men attempting to force entry to a property in Hooley Lane around 11 o’clock Friday evening (25th July)

The Police helicopter assisted in the search and nobody sustained injuries during the incident.

Crawley Town Result

On Saturday Crawley Town FC were held to a 3-3 draw by Conference newcomers Eastleigh in a pre-season friendly.

This evening  (Monday 28th July) the Reds travel the short distance to Jubilee Field where they face Three Bridges in a 7.45 kick-off.

Stabbing in Crawley

A man was stabbed in Crawley on Thursday afternoon (24 July) in broad daylight.

The 22 year old man had been in a confrontation with a  26-year-old man and a 17-year-old boy on Skelmersdale Walk in Bewbush just after 4 in the afternoon.

The man and boy – who are both from Crawley – were arrested on suspicion of wounding with intent and possession with intent to supply a Class A drug.

They were still in custody this morning.

Possible new bus service

Would you use a bus if it went from Crawley to Dorking?

The council is looking into whether there is demand for a service which would pass through villages like Newdigate, Leigh, Brockham, Norwood Hill and Strood Green.
