Redhill rugby union star celebrates 200th appearance

Redhill-born Chris Robshaw led the Harlequins onto the field at The Stoop yesterday, celebrating his 200th appearance for the premiership rugby union club.

In the third round of the European Rugby Champions Cup, they welcomed Leinster in clash to separate the top two clubs in Pool 2.

Tries from Easter and Tikoirotuma, as well as a drop goal from scrum-half Danny Care, helped to secure a 24-18 victory over their opponents.

Tobacco stolen from petrol station in Blindley Heath

Thousand of pounds worth of cigarettes have been stolen from a petrol station in Blindley Heath.

Alarms were triggered just before 1 o’clock Wednesday morning at the Texaco petrol station on A22.

Offenders forced their way in through the front of the store.

Distraction thieves target elderly woman in Dorking

A woman in her 70s has been a victim of a distraction theft in Dorking.

She visited Barclays Bank on the High Street on Wednesday and withdrew £1000.  The victim walked back to her car with a friend and noticed a strong smell and a yellow substance marking the back of her jacket.

Shortly afterwards two women appeared in what police believe was a distraction technique.  When the elderly victim returned home she noticed her money was missing.

Both suspects are described as asian; one was in her early 50s, around 5ft 1ins tall of stocky build, wearing glasses, a black hat with a fur trim and dark clothing.  The second was around 30 years old, around 5ft 3ins tall and of slender build.

Suspected arson in Horsham

An appeal for information has been launched following a fire in Horsham.

Fire crews were called to Crawley Road shortly after 6 o’clock the evening of 23rd November.  A blaze had broken out in a flat above Horsham Car Centre.

It is believed the fire was started deliberately in a bin in the hallway.

No-one was injured.

 

Jewellery missing following a burglary in Smallfield

Enquiries continue into the whereabouts of jewellery stolen from a property in Smallfield.

The items, which are of huge sentimental value to the rightful owners, were taken during a burglary on 6th November.
