Crawley teen found

The teenager who went missing from a care home in Crawley yesterday has now been found.

 

15-year-old Rebecca Mitchel-Pitcher, who has gone missing before, had left the home without telling anyone where she was going.
Later she was found again in Crawley safe and well.

Crawley residents win photography award

Two people from Crawley won this year’s Buchan Country Park Photography Competition.

 

Vicky Rowe, won the adult competition with a black and white portrait image of her partner and son walking through the park – and – 11-year-old David King, won the young photographer award with a shot of a red damselfly sitting on a leaf.
The winning photographs, along with a selection of the others submitted for the competition, are on display at the Countryside Centre at Buchan Country Park.

Concerns over local health services in West Sussex

There are concerns about the future of local health services after the Coastal West Sussex Clinical Commissioning Group – or CCG – decided to award a contract for the delivery of new musculoskeletal services.

 

Western Sussex Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust are worried it would have a detrimental impact on some of their services.

 

Katie Armstrong, Chief of the CCG says their decision is in the best interests of patients.

 

However, Chair of West Sussex Health and Adult Social Care Select Committee, Margaret Evans, says that they want further reassurances that other services will not be negatively affected.
As of yet, the contract has not been signed.

Up to 13,000 extra school places needed in Surrey

Surrey needs to find £215 million over the next five years to provide for the expected 13, 000 school places needed.

 

Surrey taxpayers make a contribution of £6 billion to the national Exchequer annually but receive less than £1bn back.

 

Almost 3,000 extra school places will be made by the next academic year.
This September, more than 4-thousand-1-hundred extra places were created in time for the start of the academic year.
