Major roadworks start today on the M23 and A23 in Hooley.
The maintenance and road resurfacing will take place overnight, with some diversions put in place.
The £1.8m scheme is due to be completed in October.
Sections of the M23, including link roads around the M25 /M23 junction, and the A23 will be closed at different stages.
And Southern Gas Networks is also replacing the gas main in central Hooley.
A man was hurt when his car collided with a tree in in Crawley on Thursday evening.
The accident happened in Raithlin Road, Broadfield.
The car turned on its side and the driver was helped from his vehicle by firefighters from West Sussex Fire and Rescue Service.
The man’s injuries are not thought to be serious.
Work’s begun on a £10m leisure centre in the Preston area of Tadworth.
The building will also serve as a community and youth centre, Reigate and Banstead Borough Council said.
The centre will include a 25m six-lane swimming pool, teaching pool, gym and dance and exercise studio as well as a creche and youth centre.
Construction is due to be finished by the autumn.
Crawley Town suffered their first defeat of the pre-season campaign at the hands of Championship side Fulham on Saturday afternoon at the Broadfield Stadium.

A Horley taxi driver was banned from driving after he pleaded guilty for speeding – he was almost double the drink drive limit.
Gary Verlander was caught at 89mph on the M23 at the end of June.
On being caught he was breathalysed.
He had 68 microgrammes of alcohol per 100 millilitres on his breath. The legal limit is 35 microgrammes.
The 53 year old has been banned from driving for 17 months. He will also have to pay a £100 fine and a £20 victim surcharge.
