Crawley Knifepoint Robbery
A man has been jailed following a knife-point robbery at a shop in Crawley.
Craig Baker entered the Co-Op in Ifield Drive armed with a 10-inch kitchen knife and demanded a member of staff to hand over cash.
The staff member refused and was able to activate the security alarm.
In a police interview Baker confessed, saying, “I didn’t mean to do anything naughty… You guys have done the right thing getting me off the streets”.
He was remanded in custody and sentenced to a total of 32 months’ imprisonment.
Residential Burglaries in Horley
Surrey Police are appealing for witnesses after two residential burglaries in Horley.
Both incidents took place on Tuesday 28th February during which several items, including jewellery, were stolen.
The first robbery took place at a house in Fishers at around 2pm, which was then followed by a second event believed to have happened at around 2.15pm in Langshott.
If you have any information which could help their investigation, including any CCTV or Smart doorbell footage, you are asked to contact Police on 101.
Junior Doctors Strike
As the junior doctor’s strike continues, staff at Queen Victoria Hospital in East Grinstead are asking patients to still attend any scheduled appointments if you haven’t been contacted otherwise.
Between now and Thursday, staff are having to make some changes to accommodate the reduction in medical personnel, for those who have a planned appointment or surgery.
