Volunteers Sought in Tandridge

Tandridge Access Group is a charity that helps to provide the local district more accessible and inclusive areas and are currently on the lookout for more volunteers.

The group work to improve access for people with disabilities and also raise awareness of challenges across the district.

Recently, they improved a popular footpath in Oxted making it now accessible for anyone with a mobility scooter, including new gates with a special RADAR key access for everyone to enjoy the Glebe open space.

The group meet at the council offices in Oxted every two months, so for anyone who has some spare time and would like to help, you can email the organisation on tandridgeaccessgroup@gmail.com

Crawley Police Use DNA Technology To Deter Burglary

Crawley Police has teamed up with a forensic firm to help in the fight against burglary.

The Neighbourhood Policing Team will distribute DNA marking kits to residents from identified locations across the borough.  Marking property with a DNA identifier proves who the item belongs to and links criminals to the crimes they commit.  Each kit comes in a pot of adhesive solution and can be used to mark up to 50 items.

Posters will be displayed in the areas where the DNA marking kits will be used – to deter potential offenders.

Consultation on controlled parking zones in Crawley

West Sussex County Council invites residents in Pound Hill and Three Bridges to comment on proposals for new controlled parking zones in Crawley.

Current parking arrangements in parts of Pound Hill and Three Bridges have led to concerns about congestion and accessibility, with commuter parking often reducing available spaces for residents.

This consultation, which is open until 1 December 2024, is a chance for residents to help shape a solution that supports local needs
