Surrey Warm hub to return

Community spaces for anyone struggling to keep warm this winter have been opened again in Surrey.

Eighty-four locations including libraries, charity shops and churches have offered their help to residents.

The welcome community initiative offers support from November through to March 2025.

Police appeal in identifying woman found dead

Police in Sussex are asking for help in identifying woman who was found dead in Crawley on October 27th

The woman’s body was discovered by a member of the public in Ewhurst Wood, Langney Green, shortly before 1pm.

She was white and is believed to have been aged between 35-45, 5’1″, weighing around 9 stone. She had no surgical scars, tattoos or other identifying features.

Her death is not being treated as suspicious.

Tandridge tenants to give feedback on current services

Tenants of Tandridge District Council have been invited take part in a survey that focuses on their homes and the housing services the council provides.

The aim of the survey is to have feedback on what is done well and what could be improved.

The survey will continue during November.

The survey can be completed online, by post or by telephone and should take no more than five minutes to complete.

Surrey Pedophile returned to prison

A pedophile from Redhill has been ordered back to prison after breaching his Sexual Harm Prevention Order.

29-year-old, Max Coughlin, was imprisoned in 2014 for making and distributing indecent images of children.

In October 2021, following his release, police arrested Coughlin and discovered he had been trying to meet a child.

He was sentenced to six years in prison with a year on licence at Guildford Crown Court on Monday.

 

Students complete IGNITE programme

Twelve students from Crawley College have successfully completed the latest IGNITE programme run by West Sussex Fire & Rescue Service.

The course aims to promote resilience, improve wellbeing and strengthen relationships.

During the course, the young people aged 16 – 19 took part in a diverse programme of firefighter simulated exercises and activities.

A special pass out parade was held to celebrate the students’ achievements on last Friday at Crawley Fire Station in front of their families.
