Local Firms Secure Work in Sussex and Surrey

Annual figures reveal that 4,300 local companies secured £363m worth of contracts from the council- the equivalent of just under £1m daily.

That means that local spending on goods and services has surged to 52% as the council pushes towards its target of 60%. Three years ago, the council spent just over a third of its money locally.

This comes after a number of initiatives such as Build surrey, which were designed to make it easier for firms to do business with the council

Bristol Rovers beat Crawley town 2-1 in last nights FA cup second round Replay

Crawley Town boss, John Gregory said Bristol Rovers deserved to win following a poor show in the second half of the match.

Bristol Rovers now face Birmingham City in the third round and the winners  will play Swansea City, who knocked out Manchester United last week, on the weekend of 25-26 January,

Surrey CC Top Performing Council

Surrey County Council has been named the top performing council in England!

This is for its work last year managing public right of way.

The public’s satisfaction has risen to the highest in the country following successful work by the council’s countryside access team who teamed up with volunteers to improve local path signs and create better web-based information.

Redhill Theft near Donyngs

Property Breakin in Redhill

A property in Station Road Redhill near the Donyngs roundabout has been broken into.

The break in took place on the 3rd of January 2014 and various electrical items were stolen.

Police officers are now appealing for witnesses and anyone with information should call them on 101.

School Application Deadline

School Application Deadline Approaching

Time is no running out got parents to apply for infant, junior or primary school places for children due to start or transfer schools in September.
The application deadline is is the 15th of January and parents who miss this reduce their chances of getting a place at their preferred schools.
The easiest and quickest way to apply is online at surreycc.gov.uk/admissions until midnight on 15 January.
